Welcome To Harte's Academy
Offering a vocational education pathway for 11–16 year olds
Welcome to Harte's Academy
Harte’s Academy has been established, for 11–16-year-olds, to offer a vocational education pathway to students who find conventional education challenging, due to requiring specialised learning and behaviour management. By offering an environment and a curriculum that is easily adapted to need, students will learn to recognise their potential and self-worth, improve their confidence and self-esteem, cultivate self-management strategies and develop their ability to engage positively with their communities and wider society.

Our Mission
Small Class Sizes
We maintain a 1:6 ratio, providing the wraparound support needed for students to thrive in a focused environment.
Specialist Staff
Our learners have direct access to industry-trained professionals who specialise in vocational mentoring and support.
Personalised Learning
Every student follows a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) tailored to their unique strengths and individual needs.
Our Values
Harte’s Academy believes that there are fundamental skills that require supportive development to enable its students to achieve and succeed.
Such skills are embedded within our curriculum offer along with Harte’s values: Honesty, Aspire, Respect, Tenacity, Excellence, Support, and are explicitly focused upon during our P.S.H.E sessions and Project Based Learning Sessions.
Curriculum
Much of the curriculum will be delivered using a project-based learning approach, to allow students to appreciate their talents and to enhance their ability to attain their goals, targets and future aspirations.
In 2026/2027 students will be taught Construction Skills, Cooking Skills, Sport & Fitness, Maths, English, Science, Humanities and Creative Media. Vehicle Maintenance and Hair & Beauty will be added to this offer in the future.
Admission
Year 7 & 8 admissions will commence in September 2026. Each admission is considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the students we admit will benefit from the vocational education pathway offered at Harte’s Academy.
